Why Community Service?
Life-giving community and transforming discipleship are two of the pillars of FCA. Our goal is for our students to become active members of our community and create a positive impact in our society. The Student Community Service (SCS) is an academic requirement to be fulfilled by all high school students during their four years of study. Every year the students will be required to pursue 15 (fifteen) hours of community service/volunteer work.

15 hours of community service are required each year of high school. The current freshman class will have a minimum of 60 (sixty) hours completed by graduation.
Students can choose the organization/individual for whom they will provide service, but please note that only a max of 10 hours from the same organization will count towards the 15-hour requirement.
Service hours for the year will be accepted starting on the first day of classes and must be completed by April 30. Summer service hours may be approved for the upcoming year - contact Mrs. Lee at llee@franklinchristianacademy.org for information.
All hours must be reported for credit. The supervisor will compute and submit your hours using the QR code below or by filling out the online form found here. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Lee at llee@franklinchristianacademy.org

Choose the organization/individual for whom you will provide service (see list below).
Contact the supervisor using the email or phone number provided on the list of approved organizations for community service below.
The supervisor will provide you with all the information about volunteer hours.
Ask your supervisor to compute and submit your hours. See "Submitting Hours" below.
***If you are interested in an organization not on this list, please contact Mrs. Lee at lleea@franklinchristianacademy.org for approval.

If a physical form is needed, please have them complete this form and email it to Mrs. Lee at llee@franklinchristianacademy.org.
Please ask the supervisor to complete the form at the end of every day of work.
ATTENTION: Only forms from the verified supervisor's email will be accepted.
*GraceWorks Ministries has its own way of entering hours. Check the instructions on the List of Approved Organizations.
*Churches: You will not find contact information of churches on the List of Approved Organizations. The reason is one and only one: the amount of service departments a church has. The person who enters your hours MUST have an organizational email from the church in question. Example: soandso@gatewayfranklin.com. Some exceptions can be made. Talk to Mrs. Lee if the church you serve doesn't have organizational emails.

Access the "FCA Family Portal"
On the left side of the page, click on the icon "Family" and choose "Family Home".
On the top center of the page select the name of the "Student"
On the right side of the page, a menu with the student service hours will show up.
Community Service Distinction
Community Service Distinction
This is a special recognition that will be included on the student's final high school transcript and recognized at graduation. To receive this recognition a student needs to achieve 25 hours or more of community service in each academic year.
